Solution Details

Subsea Energy Solutions (SES) recently delivered a Pull-in Head and Hang-off Clamp Arrangement for installation of sonar equipment offshore. 

The pull-in head was required to clamp onto the cable and provide a seal against sea water for a depth of up to 100m. 

The pull-in head was fully manufactured from stainless steel 316 and seals were made from SES polyurethane. 

Following manufacture, factory testing was conducted to confirm the axial load capacity and the sealing capability. 

The client requested that the pull-in head be installed directly onto the fibre optic cable ready to be shipped to the Far East. 

A further sealing test was carried out once the pull-in head was installed.
