Sponsoring Charity Car Journey Of A Lifetime

Subsea Energy Solutions have sponsored two like minded young gentleman farmers, Paddy McCloy & Tom Howdle, on a journey of a lifetime.

The gentleman are driving through 20 countries (10,000 miles / 16,000 km / 3 months) and are appealing to raise £ 100 for every country they travel through.

The route consists of England, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Across The Caspian Sea, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and finally (hopefully) Mongolia & Russia.

Leaving in July 2015 from The Festival Of Slow at Goodwood in England all the way to Ulan-ude in Russia.

Along the route the gentleman shall be visiting the “Gates Of Hell" in Turkmenistan and shall provide further photographs from the incredible location.

The "Gates Of Hell” are a Natural Gas field in Derweze, Turkmenistan that has been burning continuously since it was discovered in 1971.

The expedition vehicle is not quite a factory prepared Landrover Discovery, but a modest 2005 Daihatsu Sirion (4x4).

All sponsorship funds raised go directly to Martin House Hospice. The aim of Martin House is to provide family led care for children with life shortening conditions.

It is a place where children, young people and their families can come to stay from time to time along their journey and find support, rest and practical help.
